Delete your Hebrew University account

Your Hebrew University account is the one you use on this website. You can delete it at any time, in either of the two ways below.

1. On this website

Sign in with your email or Google account.
You'll come straight back to this page. Type DELETE and press the button.

2. By email

Email yaacov@thrivestudyabroad.org from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We'll confirm it's you and delete the account within 30 days.

What gets deleted

Your email address, phone and WhatsApp numbers, and any second email address.
Your date of birth, background details and passport details.
Your gender, dietary needs, how you heard about us, your living situation, your gap-year details and where you live now.
Your answers to the other questions on your profile, and your intake form answers.
The earlier and later values recorded in our activity log when your profile changed, and the IP address recorded with them. The log keeps only what happened and when.
Your profile photo.
Your password, and the link to your Google sign-in.
Your RSVPs and tickets for upcoming events, which are cancelled.

You're signed out on every device straight away, and the account can't sign in again. Deleting on this website takes effect immediately.

What we keep, and why

Your participation history. The events, meetings and programs you already took part in, and our staff's notes about them, stay in our records so that program attendance totals stay accurate. They sit on an account renamed "Deleted User", with your name alongside it so our staff can make sense of past attendance lists. Your university, program and major, home country and graduation year stay on it too. Nothing on it can be used to contact you.
Photos you added to event galleries stay in those galleries.
Our relationship-management system (Salesforce) is cleared the same way: your contact details, the details about you listed above and any family or emergency contacts you gave us are removed there too, and your name and participation history stay, as here. If you also have an account at another campus that shares that record, the record stays as it is for that account; ask us (below) to clear it.
Phone contact cards. Staff who saved you to their phone contacts keep that card until you ask for full erasure (below).
Attendance already reported to OLAMI United, the OLAMI network's records system, stays there. We can't withdraw what has already been reported.

We keep these records for as long as we run our programs. If you want them erased completely, including your name, gallery photos, and copies held by the systems we use to run our programs, email yaacov@thrivestudyabroad.org and we'll erase them within 30 days.

Delete some of your data without deleting your account

You can remove parts of your information and keep your account:

On this website: My account → edit your profile.
By email: for anything else, email yaacov@thrivestudyabroad.org from the address on your account and say what you want removed. We'll do it within 30 days.
